MANILA, Philippines -- The son of singer Gary Valenciano figured in an accident early Monday morning when his car collided with a jeep along the C-5 Road in Taguig City.

Juan Paolo Valenciano, lead singer of the band Salamin, was approaching Palar Village in Barangay (village) Western Bicutan in his Suzuki Swift on the northbound lane of C-5 at around 5 a.m. when he hit the rear of the jeep driven by Elioberto Mendoza, Police Officer 3 Herizaldo Gawain of the Taguig police's traffic enforcement unit said.

Valenciano?s car spun once before hitting a concrete barrier but he was not hurt.

Mendoza?s passenger, Noel Moong, suffered minor scratches.

Police said no charges have been filed against Valenciano as both parties have reached a settlement. Valenciano also offered to pay for the treatment of Moong's injuries.
