LOS ANGELES -- Director David Fincher, the man behind thrillers "Seven" and "Zodiac," is preparing an R-rated animated film inspired by the stories in '70s sci-fi magazine "Heavy Metal," Variety reported Friday.
The Paramount Pictures film will feature the same erotic and violent themes as the magazine and be made up of eight or nine animated segments, each directed by someone different, the industry daily said.
Fincher will direct one part, while Variety said other participants so far are Kevin Eastman, who co-created "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and now owns "Heavy Metal," and Tim Miller of Blur Studios, which will do the animation for the film.
