LONDON -- British filmmaker Anthony Minghella, whose 1996 movie "The English Patient" garnered nine Oscars, has died, his agent said Tuesday.
The writer and director, whose other box office hits include "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Cold Mountain," was 54, the agent added.
