LOS ANGELES - A 33-year-old woman caught near the Malibu home of actor John Cusack was arrested on suspicion of stalking the star, police said Tuesday.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said that Emily Leatherman was detained fon Sunday and booked for felony stalking and violation of a restraining order obtained by Cusack.
She was being held on 150,000 dollars bail, Whitmore added. Police were called to the scene after being called by a taxi driver reporting that a female passenger was refusing to pay her fare.
As deputies arrived at the scene they were flagged down by "High Fidelity" star Cusack, who reported that the woman in the cab had been stalking him, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In his request for a restraining order, Cusack alleged Leatherman had thrown a bag over the fence of his home containing love letters, rocks and screwdrivers, the Times reported.
It was the second time in the space of a year that Leatherman had been accused of stalking a celebrity. Last year she was arrested outside the home of Tom Cruise, also on suspicion of breaching a restraining order.
