LOS ANGELES -- Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges stemming from his arrest for drug possession last month in Hollywood.
Adler, 43, is charged with a felony count of heroin possession as well as a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of an opiate.
"He's doing one day at a time," Adler's attorney Barry Sands said.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Bianco ordered Adler, who is free on bail, to remain in a drug-abuse treatment program as he awaits his next appearance in court, in September.
Adler was the Guns N' Roses drummer between 1985 and 1990, when he eventually parted company with the group amid allegations of his persistent drug use.
Recent reports have said Adler was preparing to join the cast of reality television show "Sober Living."
