MANILA, Philippines—Actor Johnny Delgado is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma, not colon cancer as previously reported, the veteran thespian’s wife, acclaimed actress-director Laurice Guillen, told INQUIRER.net

Guillen said Delgado is suffering from “Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma,” which is “treatable.” She also said visits from family and friends were restricted for safety reasons.

“While he undergoes treatment, visitors are restricted so as not to put him at risk for infections,” Guillen said. “He is under the care of wonderful and amazing doctors at St. Luke's Medical Center; and enjoys the comfort of prayers and invaluable love of friends.”

In addition, Guillen said she never suffered from colon cancer as was also previously reported. “I have never had colon cancer nor any type of cancer in the past,” she said.
