BEVERLY HILLS -- Uplifting British film "Slumdog Millionaire" won best drama at the Golden Globes here Sunday, its fourth award of the night.
Director Danny Boyle's film follows the fortunes of an orphan who rises from the poverty of Mumbai's slums to reach the brink of riches on the Indian version of popular game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."
The film was adapted from Indian author Vikas Swarup's novel "Q and A" by screenwriter Simon Beaufoy, best known for 1997 hit "The Full Monty."
Boyle had earlier won best director while Beaufoy won for best screenplay. The film also won in the music category.
Other nominees for Sunday's award included "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Frost/Nixon", "Revolutionary Road" and "The Reader."
