MANILA, Philippines ? (UPDATE) Unidentified persons shot at the parked sports utility vehicle of an actor early Monday morning in Mandaluyong City, a police official said.
There were no witnesses to the shooting that left a bullet hole on the left fender of the green Ford Expedition of Jake Cuenca, a talent of ABS-CBN, parked in front of his family?s building, said Senior Superintendent Carlos de Sagun.
De Sagun said the bullet was discovered at 4 a.m., some hours after Cuenca and his driver left the vehicle in front of the Cuencas? three-story residential building at the corner of Boni Avenue and Mayon Street.
The rear window of the vehicle was also damaged since the assailant apparently threw rocks at it, the police official said.
De Sagun said the Cuencas told them they knew of no one who might bear a grudge against them.
The bullet was from a .45 caliber pistol, De Sagun added. No suspect has been identified.
Meanwhile, Star Magic, ABS-CBN?s talent management arm that handles Cuenca?s acting career confirmed the incident and indicated that the actor was ?safe.?
?The incident did happen. Jake is safe but has no idea who did it,? Star Magic said in a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
