MANILA, Philippines?Broadway star Stephanie Reese is in town for a series of shows, hoping to bring joy to fellow Filipinos through her music.
Reese, a Filipina-American artist based in Los Angeles, has been dubbed the "Standing Ovation Queen" for her performances?among them portraying the role of "Kim" in Miss Saigon-Germany, "Esmeralda" in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, and "Princess Tuptim" in The King and I in London's West End.
Reese hopes to make her upcoming performance on May 4 at Teatrino, Promenade in Greenhills special.
"I'll forever be indebted to this country," said Reese, as she narrated how coming to the Philippines have helped her change her views in life.
Reese's mother was born in Bicol province.
