MANILA, Philippines?Actress Ruffa Gutierrez-Bektas has asked a Quezon City court to grant her custody over her two daughters following her separation from her Turkish husband Yilmaz Bektas.

The celebrity, whose real name is Sharmaine Gutierrez-Bektas, recently filed a petition for custody of the girls and the case was raffled off this week to Judge Jose Bautista Jr of Branch 107 of the Regional Trial Court.

But as the court handling the case is a family court, the contents of the petition, docketed as Civil Case No Q-09-64795, can only be revealed to the concerned parties.

A summons has been sent to the Bektas at his address in Instanbul to inform him of the petition filed for custody over his daughters.

Bektas and Gutierrez were married at the Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City on March 25, 2003.

In May 2007, the couple announced their mutual decision to end their four-year marriage, after which Gutierrez returned to the Philippines with her two daughters.
