MANILA, Philippines?Fearing for his life, Hayden Kho was a no-show at the National Bureau of Investigation Friday, his lawyer said.

Kho?s legal counsel Herbert Hernane said the controversial cosmetic surgeon opted not to personally appear at the NBI for security reasons.

Hernane instead submitted to the NBI Kho?s counter-affidavit.

The lawyer said the incident at the Senate Thursday wherein a former police officer poured water on Kho only showed there was really a threat to the surgeon?s life.

Kho also opted not to appear personally at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
