MANILA, Philippines ? (UPDATE 2) Talent manager Douglas Quijano passed away Saturday at his rest house in Lucban, Quezon province. He was 64.
Senior Superintendent Fidel Posadas, Quezon provincial police chief, said Quijano was found dead inside his home at Countryville Subdivision, in the village of Ayuti, Lucban town at around 10 a.m.
Quijano was found by his house help lifeless on the bed, Posadas said.
The news was also confirmed by one of his biggest stars, Richard Gomez, who is currently in San Francisco, California.
?It's a big loss. He is well-loved and respected in the industry," Gomez told the Philippine Daily Inquirer in a phone interview.
Quijano was credited for discovering and nurturing such stars as Gomez, Joey Marquez, Anjo Yllana, said director Elwood Perez.
"I will miss him," said producer Lily Monteverde. "He helped build my company, Regal. It's hard to imagine Regal without him."
Police are still determining the cause of Quijano's death, Posadas said.
