MANILA, Philippines?Off to the province for his campaign, administration candidate Gilbert Teodoro will visit Davao City on Thursday for a trip to the prayer mountain of influential religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Quiboloy is the head of the Davao-based sect Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name Above Every Name (KJC).
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has recently tapped Quiboloy as one of her spiritual advisers.
A number of presidential, vice presidential and senatorial candidates have sought Quiboloy?s blessings for their bid this May election.
Teodoro will be prayed over by Quiboloy?s flock in his place of worship, according to Mike Toledo, the spokesman of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD bet.
?He was invited by Pastor Quiboloy in his praise and worship meeting where he would be prayed over by the community,? Toledo said in a text message.
Asked what Quiboloy?s blessings could do to Teodoro?s presidential bid, Toledo said, ?We know how powerful prayers as a community can be.?
Quiboloy's sect claims to have at least six million followers. KJC also owns the Sonshine Media Network International, which operates a radio and television station in the country.
On Friday, Teodoro is scheduled to shoot a new television commercial before heading to Kidapawan City for a multi-sectoral meeting. In the afternoon, he will be in University of Mindanao and will later have dinner with Speaker Prospero Nograles.
