MANILA, Philippines? For the first time in her six-decade career, Anita Linda top-bills a music video: DJ Myke?s ?Huling Araw??carrier single for his album, ?Homework.?
When the video was offered to Anita by Myke?s manager Noel Ferrer, she got very excited: ?I bragged about it to my grandchildren and younger friends.?
Just imagine, she said, she?ll be seen on music channels like MTV, Myx and Channel [V]. ?First thing I asked was, would I have to sing and dance??
The shoot, under director Carby Salvador, went smoothly. ?We shot in an old mansion in Antipolo at dusk,? Anita said. The view from the hill was beautiful.?
Ferrer made sure Anita was treated like a queen. And DJ Myke was honored to work with ?Mommy Alice,? the actress? real name. ?She?s very artistic,? Myke said. ?She sees beyond what is asked of her.?
In the music video, Anita plays a mysterious woman waiting for lost love. The video will be released anytime after today.
After the ABS-CBN soap ?Tayong Dalawa? and Brillante Mendoza?s Dubai-winning film ?Lola,? Anita shot two indie movies back-to-back: Doy del Mundo?s ?Paglipad ng Anghel? and Adolfo Alix Jr.?s ?Presa.?
In ?Anghel,? she plays a beggar; in ?Presa,? a has-been actress jailed for drug pushing.
She said she enjoyed shooting ?Anghel? at the Edsa Shrine?a very busy intersection. ?One pedestrian thought I was a real beggar and gave me P5.?
In ?Presa,? she shares the screen with a powerhouse cast: Rosanna Roces, Daria Ramirez, Tetchie Agbayani, Jodi Santamaria and Perla Bautista.
?The officers and inmates at the Women?s Correctional were nice and accommodating,? Anita said.
For the prison film, she dyed her famously silver hair black. ?I looked terrible. I?ll never dye my hair again.?
