MANILA, Philippines?Over a thousand police and military personnel marched from EDSA-Boni Serrano in Mandaluyong to the People Power Monument in Quezon City to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the People Power, which toppled former strongman Ferdinand Marcos.

Dubbed as "Salubungan," the march commemorated the military's defiance against the Marcos dictatorship.

A total of 700 policemen joined members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the march that started at 3:30 p.m.

Leaflets bearing the lyrics of "Bayan Ko" and Magkaisa" were handed out to motorists.
