MANILA, Philippines -- Philippine Olympic Committee President Jose ?Peping? Cojuangco Jr. dismissed as ?guesswork? the list of names being paraded as the possible replacement for Harry Angping as Philippine Sports Commission chair.
The POC president said on Tuesday he has not received word from his nephew, the apparent president-elect, Sen. Benigno Aquino III, about the matter.
?Those are pure speculations,? said Cojuangco, referring to the list that included swimming chief Mark Joseph, basketball icon and former Sen. Robert Jaworski and former PSC chief Philip Ella Juico.
?Let?s just wait for the inauguration of the next president before we discuss the matter,? added Cojuangco, uncle of Senator Benigno ?Noynoy? Aquino, the leading candidate in the presidential race.
Others in the list include former PSC commissioner Ritchie Garcia, POC officials Manny Lopez (1st vice president), Steve Hontiveros (secretary general) and publicist Clarito Samson.
