MANILA, Philippines ? Quezon City police on Friday advised motorists of the following traffic re-routing scheme that will be implemented on July 26, Monday, when President Benigno Aquino III would deliver his first State of the Nation Address (Sona):
Effective 6 a.m., the following re-routing scheme will take effect:
? North-bound vehicles coming from the Quezon Memorial Circle en route to Fairview must take the U-turn slot fronting Jocfer Building, and use part of the opposite lane, under the direction of traffic officers, up to the U-turn slot in San Simon Street fronting the Commission on Audit (COA) building;
? Vehicles must then the U-turn slot at San Simon (Riverside) to go back to normal traffic flow towards Fairview. Vehicles of VIPs? with authorized car passes will pass through the U-turn Slot in front of St. Peter Church going to the Batasan Complex;
? For southbound vehicles, police have advised that although no re-routing scheme will be implemented, traffic is expected to be heavy.
Quezon City police district director Chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele said around 6,000 policemen and security forces would be deployed to provide security in and around the Batasan Pambansa.
Eight closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) will also be installed along Commonwealth Avenue, he said.
