MANILA, Philippines?A German shepherd from Olongapo City clinched the ?Siegerin Title? and consequently the ?Best of Breed Award? among the more than 30 dogs that participated in the Central Visayas Landesgruppen Sieger Show held in Cebu City last August 22.

Nena vom Trompetersprung, the multi-awarded show dog owned by cousins Dennis E. Legaspi and Michael Escalona, initially copped First Place (V1 rating) in the ?Female 24 months above? category, thus arranging a one-on-one duel with the declared ?Sieger Dog? of the day, to vie for the top dog award where she eventually emerged victorious.

?She is a very nice female German shepherd, an excellent mover, who also has an excellent anatomical form. Truly magnificent, I give her a rating of V-1,? commented Chim Sison, the country?s renowned German shepherd breeder who was the designated licensed judge that day.

Central Visayas German Shepherd Dog Association president Ruben Muego pointed out that Nena is a fantastic mover who is very well trained in the ring, as shown by her correct disposition and consistent confidence.

The dog is said to be gunning for the coveted ?Best Female German Shepherd Dog of the Year? to be handed at the end of this year by the German Shepherd Dog Federation headed by lawyer Jesse Andres.

Nena?s owners, who are both active members of the Central Luzon German Shepherd Association (CLGSDA), said that they will participate in the upcoming Regional Sieger Show to be hosted by CLGSDA president Joey Madlangbayan and chairman Patrick Escalona Puno in Subic on October 23.
