MANILA, Philippines? Actor-turned politician Patrick dela Rosa was placed under police custody on Friday after a college student charged that the actor raped her in a condominium in Quezon City.

Senior Police Officer 4 Reynaldo Gatbunton, desk officer at the Cubao Police Station, said Dela Rosa, 45, was arrested early Friday morning for raping a 20-year-old female student at a friend?s unit at the Regalia Tower EDSA corner P. Tuazon Avenue in Cubao.

Citing the police blotter, the police officer said Dela Rosa, a board member in the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro, and the victim had been drinking at the condominium with five other persons.

The victim alleged that the former actor took advantage of her drunkenness and raped her at around 4 a.m.

The college student managed to get the help of her friends when she realized that Dela Rosa had taken advantage of her.

Gatbunton said building security called the Cubao Police Station and reported a commotion at the condominium.

Operatives of the Police Station were immediately sent to the building and took Dela Rosa into custody.

Dela Rosa remains detained at the Cubao police station pending the filing of appropriate charges.

The 1980s bold actor was elected number one board member of Oriental Mindoro provincial government during the last May elections. He previously served as council member of the city government of Calapan. With INQUIRER.net
