MANILA, Philippines ? Malacanang condoled with the family of television actor and model AJ Perez who was killed early Sunday in a vehicular accident in Moncada, Tarlac.

``We are extending our sympathy to his family,'' deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said on government radio dzRB as she cautioned people to keep safe when traveling on the road, especially with the onset of the Holy week.

Antonilo Joseph Perez, better known as AJ Perez, and one of the stars in the popular ABS-CBN drama series ``Sabel,'' died after the van that his group was riding in collided with a bus in Moncada, Tarlac.

The 18-year-old Perez and his group were on their way to Metro Manila when they met the accident along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay San Julian Moncada, at 12:10 am. They had just come from a show in Dagupan City.
