Cheap gimmickry
From Jean Chenet(thecommentator @ live.com.ph):
You are definitely right. Artists with real talent do not have to rely on perennial public deception.
Looks like we have so many show biz celebs with no real talent, because cheap PR gimmickry has become a common and abominable practice in the entertainment industry, just to land artistas in newspapers, online entertainment sites, TV and radio programs and other platforms for public exposure.
These artistas and their managers, PR agents and home studios (if any) connive in manufacturing all sorts of rumors about them, feed them to the media and fan the fire for a week or so to retain public attention.
So much for truth. So much for legit entertainment news. What is sad is that ordinary folks lap up these scandals.
I think the most recent gimmick of that sort was the one that involved Gretchen Barretto who has little to speak of in terms of a career outside her sexcapades. C?mon, guys. You?re giving entertainment journalism a bad name.
Who cares?
From Phil Mangubat (filomango69 @ yahoo.com), Quezon City:
Why bother about Gretchen Barretto? Who cares who she?s sleeping with? From the Loyzaga guy to Cojuangco to John Estrada (and a few other actors) to Dodie Puno, it?s all the same: It?s just the story of a good-looking but morally bankrupt, social-climbing, publicity hungry starlet whose materialism is matched only by her utter inability to find satisfaction and contentment in life, sexual or otherwise. Her jewelry and flawless skin cannot conceal the black spots in her soul.
