MANILA, Philippines - The fourth USTv Students? Choice Awards?given by the University of Santo Tomas for excellence and Christian values on television?will be held Feb. 20, 6 p.m., at the UST Medicine Auditorium, UST campus, España, Manila. UST Rector Magnificus Fr. Rolando V. dela Rosa, O.P. will hand out the awards.

With the theme, ?Education in Integrity: Channeling Honesty and the Truth through the TV,? the awards, organized by the Office of the UST secretary general and student leaders of UST, will cover programs aired between July and December 2007. The criteria: originality and craftsmanship, 40%; promotion of Christian values and the ?Thomasian vision of truth in charity,? 60%.

35,000 voters

Voters for the awards are the 35,000-strong student body of the Pontifical University. Their choices are confirmed by a student-dominated board of judges, which also includes media experts and UST administrators and academics.

Student-Judges Choice awards will be given out to the best public service show and the best Catholic program.

Awards for the most popular drama mini-series, actor and actress in a drama mini-series, entertainment news show, gag show and variety program will also be handed out.

The top award is the Student-Judges Choice for the Television Station with the Most Youth-Responsible Programming.
