MANILA, Philippines - ?Seksing Pinay?noon at ngayon,? a collection of sexy scenes from movies produced by Leo Films from the 1980s to 2003, will premiere at the University of the Philippines Film Institute on March 8 at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. This will be followed by a limited, exclusive run at Robinson?s Galleria, Robinson?s Place (Manila) and Robinson?s Bacolod.

Censored and never-been-seen footage from films starring sex nymphets from three decades past form the collection.

A narrator (actor Roy Alvarez) weaves together the film scenes and the phenomenon of bold movies.

Tickets at P100 are available at the UPFI box office.

Filmmaking education

The Marilou Diaz-Abaya Film Institute And Arts Center discusses the science, art and business of feature filmmaking campus in an ?international standard film education? course in Beverly Hills Subdivision, Antipolo City.

The ?mobile? classroom walls extends to the industrial studios, laboratories and professional shooting sets of faculty members.

Registration is ongoing for the next term, which begins in June.

Mobile entertainment

JVC is set to launch its 2008 mobile entertainment line with a product exhibit at the SM Mall of Asia main lobby from March 6 to 12.

On display are car audio-video devices, among them the AVX-810, which was judged winner in the 2008 Consumer Electronics Association Innovations Award for its multimedia features and unique design.

Just like the more popular portable MP3 players, the AVX-810 provides an extensive split screen display of searchable options such as playlists, albums and even song categories.

The new products will be available soon in the local market.

?Horton? screening

?Horton,? an adaptation of Dr. Seuss? 1954 children?s book, ?Horton Hears a Who,? will have an invitational screening on March 8 at Glorietta cinema.

The movie is about an imaginative elephant (voiced by Jim Carrey) who hears a cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust.

The movie features three comedy stars?Carrey, Steve Carell and Carol Burnett.

The 20th Century Fox movie, to be distributed by Warner Bros., opens on March 22 in theaters nationwide.

Pacquiao-Marquez match

The rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez live from the Mandalay Bay Events Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada will be shown in The Ballroom of Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila on March 16, 8 a.m. For an entrance fee of P800 net, the event can be witnessed on a 10-foot projector screen. Popcorn and hot dog will be served, with free-flowing soda and beer.

Controversial films

The University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) will host a film festival titled ?Director?s Cut: Mga Eksenang Dapat Mong Nakita Pero?? from March 5 to 7 at the Cine Adarna in UP Diliman, Quezon City.

To be screened are:

Joel Lamangan?s ?Bakit May Kahapon Pa?? (March 5, 5 p.m.), about a woman traumatized as a child by the massacre of her family.

Maryo J. de los Reyes? ?Laman? (March 5, 7 p.m.), about a couple?s problems caused by a rich businesswoman who lusts for the husband, and a gigolo who seduces the wife.

Jay Altarejos ?Ang Lalake sa Parola? (March 5, 9 p.m.), about a lighthouse caretaker in a conservative rural community who falls for another man as his girlfriend struggles to win him back.

Cris Pablo?s ?Duda/Doubt? (March 6, 5 p.m.), a tale of infidelity and deception between two men.

Connie Macatuno?s ?Rome and Juliet? (March 6, 7 p.m.), about the romantic journey of two women caught in a web of forbidden and unconventional love.

Mel Chionglo?s ?Twilight Dancers? (March 6, 9 p.m.), about a macho dancer pressured to ?dance? to the tune of "the new global economy."

Chito Roño?s ?La Vida Rosa? (March 7, 5 p.m.), about a couple?s life as con artists becoming complicated as one insists on retiring.

Jeffrey Jeturian?s ?Tuhog? (March 7, 7 p.m.), a disturbing movie within a movie where a mother and daughter are abused twice.

Jose Javier Reyes? ?Live Show? (March 7, 9 p.m.), about impoverished men and women who perform sexual acts in front of paying customers.

VJ hunt

Those who wish to follow in the footsteps of MYX VJs Iya Villania or Andrei Felix may sign up for the Nestea Beach 2008 VJ Hunt.

Applicants 18-26 years old may submit a one- to two-minute video that shows their VJ skills as they talk about their fun summer stories.

Log on to www.nestea.com.ph. Deadline for submission of videos is April 5 at 11:59:59 p.m.

Winners will co-host a segment with a MYX VJ, appear in ?Star MYX? and win an all-expense paid trip to Boracay, plus P10,000 pocket money.

?Jumper? hits P35.5M

The action thriller ?Jumper? topped the local box-office when it opened February with a total gross of P5.1 million nationwide.

The movie earned P35.5 million for the first five days in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cagayan, Bohol, Tagbilaran, Pampanga, Subic, Baguio, Batangas and Lucena.

?Jumper? is about David Rice (Hayden Christensen), a young man who discovers he can ?jump? or teleport anywhere in the blink of an eye.
