MANILA, Philippines?Bollywood film producer Aashish Singh is in Manila for a weeklong visit as part of a government program to promote the Philippines as a movie location site.
Singh, vice president for production of Yash Raj Films, arrived last weekend. He visited a post-production outfit and a broadcasting company in Quezon City and is scheduled to tour scenic spots including El Nido in Palawan, Boracay in Aklan and Subic in Pampanga.
On Saturday, the Department of Tourism and Film Development Council of the Philippines hosted a meet-and-greet/dinner for Singh with key players in the local movie industry.
Yash Raj Films is one of the biggest Bollywood studios in India, according to Philippine Film Export Services Office chair Digna Santiago. Forty to 60 percent of its films is shot outside India, she added. Marinel R. Cruz
