Naming names: Online 'telenovela' indicts RP 'high' society

MANILA, Philippines?A media celeb texted Rushes about the hottest blog in the Net-variously described by Netizens as "addicting," "engrossing" and "revolutionary." (Huh?)

Naming (big pop society) names and tagging them as cocaine users, freeloaders and wild clubbers, it makes "Gossip Girl" look like a Disney musical.

The cyber sensation, which logged over 40,000 hits in its first four days, chronicles alleged shenanigans of local sosi peeps -personalities that may be of little interest to those who worship at the altar of Entertainment.

Then again, a major character in this online telenovela claims to be the scion of a clan with major interests in media and show business.

Now there are allegations that this influential family is moving heaven and earth to have the blog shut down. (Puede ba 'yon?)

Which is not surprising at all. The Third-World socialites are being accused of every crime and misdemeanor in the book-from grand larceny to substance abuse, from widely flaunted infidelities to poor personal hygiene. Makes show biz vixens look like vestal virgins.

Before this blog gets yanked out of the World Wide Web, allow Rushes to quote two items in the "Comments" section, juicy tidbits that Entertainment addicts might find engaging.

A Netizen pointed out that a certain Sexy Star's wide collection of signature bags were gifts from a crooked politician. Ergo, her LVs were bought with taxpayers' money.

Yet another blog fan remarked that a certain Singer-Actor cruises a five-star spa-seeking to hook towel-clad papas. You may ask, who are we to judge his sexual proclivities? But hey, in a TV ad, the closet gay promotes wholesome and healthy living. And as if his exploits weren't stupefying enough, he was also outed in the blog as a cokehead!

Libel can be a drag, so they shall all remain nameless here. However, we repeat, their identities are spelled out online, for all of cyberspace raiders to gawk at! Care for a link? Google Brian+Whistleblower+blogspot.

News in a flash

Pretty Actress confided matters of the heart, by phone, to Media Celebrity-a major character in the online telenovela.

MC promptly relayed PA's heartache to Common Friend, who dutifully informed another CF until it went full circle and came back to PA's ears. All this happened in less than 15 minutes. Beats McDo delivery.

Top of the talk shows

For those who missed last weekend's gabfests on TV. (And why we are moved, if we are moved.)

Jekyll and Hyde

? Aiko Melendez, asked who among Aga Muhlach, Jomari Yllana and Martin Jickain-she loved the best: "Si Jom." Who was her mom's favorite? "Si Jom din." And who was the most unfaithful? "Si Jom pa rin."

? Jennica Garcia, on mom Jean's relationship with Polo Ravales:

"Kung saan po siya masaya, doon ako." (Good girl.)

? Pops Fernandez, on reports she will tie the knot with Jomari Yllana in October:

"Wala kaming plano at all." (Good girl?)

? Sharon Cuneta, on daughter KC's friendship with Richard Gutierrez:

"Hindi siya committed to anybody. To have Richard as one of the friends that she sees nowadays, may konting relaxation sa akin sapagka't nandyan ang Tito Eddie at Tita Annabelle." (And the girl is 23.)

Careless whispers

? Gretchen Barretto, on her rumored separation from partner Tonyboy Cojuangco:

"Pag naghiwalay [kami], promise, I will announce it." (At the launch of her next album, or next movie, or next TV show. Promise.)

? Annabelle Rama, on Lolit Solis' remarks about Lani Mercado's "snubbing" of Ruffa Gutierrez:

"Kung tirahin mo [Lolit] ang anak ko, below the belt. Ano ba ang nagawa ni Ruffa sa iyo?" (Sagot, dali!)

? Lolit's response:

"Wala akong iniwanang laban. Pero... tinitingnan ko pa rin 'yung 30 years na friendship namin. Nagtataka ako bakit nagiging personal ang mga bagay na ito." (Actually, 'di masyadong nakapagtataka.)

? Annabelle, back to Lolit:

"Kung gusto mong maging kaibigan ako ulit, mag-public apology ka." (Ay.)

? Lolit, back to Annabelle:

"Hinding-hindi ako magpa-public apology." (Ayayay.)

? Ruffa, airing her hurt over Lani's snub:

"I didn't do anything naman to you." (Technically, this is true.)

? Lani, on why she "snubbed" Ruffa the first time:

"Nagmadali si Bong... Hindi ko intensyon mang-snub."

? Lani, on why she "snubbed" Ruffa the second time:

"I was busy talking with some friends. Merong negotiations sa isang side, batian on the other side. Si Tita Chit (Ramos) asked me to sit down in front of Ruffa and the position of the chairs were facing the wall. Ang hirap mag move to the left or to the right. Busy 'yung conversations and I presumed that, since she was behind me, I would know who she was talking to, kasi hindi naman ako makatingin sa likod dahil kausap ko ang dalawa sa tagiliran ko." (Uh, ano raw?)

? Lani, on supposed romantic links between Ruffa and her husband, Sen. Bong Revilla:

"I have moved on and I'm sure you have moved on [as well]... Sa susunod pag nagkita tayo, papansinin kita." (Good. Magpansinan na kayo, please, and let's all move on.)

Marianna clears air

? Brazilian model Marianna del Rio, on reports linking her to Cesar Montano and his separation from wife Sunshine Cruz:

" Sobrang sad. I was in Brazil; I couldn't... even defend myself."

? Marianna, recounting a call made by Sunshine:

"Hindi [siya] sobrang galit. Pero galit. Hindi like iskandalo, shouting, no. Pero galit siya. (Got that.)
