Boo to boo-ers

I?m very angry at those who have unnecessarily embarrassed our Bb. Pilipinas candidates, and fuming at those who have made unkind remarks about them.

We are not native speakers of English. Why should we expect the ladies to speak the language perfectly? Why not Tagalog or their native dialects?

During the international events, our contestant need not speak in English, either. Other girls have requested for translators before. Why not the Philippine bets? What is important is the essence and depth of their words.

Wrong date

I?d like to point out a date error in your March 9 issue. On page H4, next to the photograph of Artist Vincent Fantauzzo, the caption says: ?... Vincent, friends with the Australian actor for five years, painted Ledger?s portrait in December 2008, just weeks before he died in New York in January.?

Perhaps you meant December 2007, since Ledger died January of this year.

Oops. That?s right. We rushed back to the source of that snap, the wire service, and there it was: 2008. It?s no excuse, though. We should have caught it.?Ed.
