Hassle-free Holy Week–stay home

MANILA, Philippines - You can have a hassle-free Semana Santa?in the cool comfort of your own home. Even inveterate vacationists might consider junking the nature tours in favor of an inspired week-long Lenten viewing fare:

?Riddles of the Bible?

National Geographic Channel takes viewers to Biblical times in ?Riddles of the Bible 2,? featuring special documentaries on ?Kings of Israel,? ?Cain and Abel? and ?Riddles of the Dead Sea Scrolls.?

?Kings of Israel? presents King David and King Solomon, the first rulers of Israel and two of the most famous sovereigns in Biblical history.

The documentary premieres tomorrow, 6 p.m., with replays March 22 at 12 p.m. and March 24 at 9 a.m.

?Pilgrimage, Inside: Bethlehem Under Fire? shows modern-day Bethlehem through the lives of Christians caught between a growing Islamic fundamentalist doctrine and the entrenched Israeli fortress that surrounds it.

It airs March 22 at 9 p.m., with replays on March 23 at 8 p.m., March 25 at 7 p.m., March 29 at 3 p.m. and March 30 at 11 a.m.

?Journey of Faith?

ABC 5 and Jesuit Communications? ?Ang Pagtanggap: A Journey of Faith? focuses on eight retreat participants who evolve in their spiritual understanding, acceptance and faith with the help of retreat master Fr. Albert Alejo. Airing dates are March 20, 5 p.m., March 21, 4 p.m. and March 22, 6 p.m.

Also airing: ?Tubig ng Buhay,? a catechetical documentary on baptism, March 20, 7 p.m.; ?Panata,? a reflection fare featuring Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, March 21, 6 p.m.; and ?Paghilom,? a Lenten presentation on the Sacraments of ?Reconciliation? and ?Anointing of the Sick,? 5 p.m., March 22.

The traditional Holy Week religious services, to be broadcast live from the Church of Gesu, Ateneo de Manila University, are ?Lord?s Supper Mass,? 4 p.m. Maundy Thursday; ?Siete Palabras (Seven Last Words),? 12 p.m. Good Friday and ?Easter Vigil,? 8 p.m. Black Saturday.

?Maging Akin Muli?

The two-part special ?Habilin: Ang Pitong Huling Wika ni Hesus? will be aired on ABS-CBN March 21, 3-5 p.m. and March 22, 2-4 p.m. Julius Babao and Tintin Bersola-Babao are the narrators.

?Crossroads: A Story Of Forgiveness?

HBO premieres the true-to-life story of Bruce Murakami in ?Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness,? March 18, 9 p.m.

Bruce Murakami?s (Dean Cain of TV?s "Lois and Clark?) wife Cindy and daughter Chelsea are involved in a car accident which claimed their lives.

Bruce discovers that the fatal encounter was the result of a reckless street race staged by teenagers. The driver, 17-year old Justin Gutierrez (Shiloh Fernandez), faces charges that could put him away for 30 years.

But Bruce?s desire for revenge is re-channeled to something more positive.

The show encores on March 19 at 1 p.m., March 21 at 11 p.m., March 22 at 7 p.m. and March 23 at 5 p.m.

?Lamat sa Puso?

?Lamat sa Puso,? an inspirational feature of ?The 700 Club Asia,? is about a girl who struggles to survive a domineering mother, a henpecked father, a lazy brother and an abusive past.

Jan Marini, Princess Punzalan, Rez Cortes, Mely Tagasa, Juan Rodrigo, Tanya Gomez and Gerard Pizarras star in this drama airing on March 21, 5 p.m. on GMA 7.
