MANILA, Philippines?Brazilian model Mariana del Rio is fuming mad at Sam Milby for allegedly not telling the story behind the story about how they met. She insists that he was the one who made the first move.

Mariana is being pinpointed as the cause of one of Sam?s major ?LQs? with Anne Curtis and a recurring source of irritation between them. An insider says Anne and Sam were overheard yelling at each other backstage a few weeks ago. Could it have been triggered by Mariana again?

Sam clarifies, ?I met Mariana on the set of ASAP and she asked for my number. That?s that. I don?t wanna talk about it anymore.?

Like a case of which came first, the chicken or the egg? Is Sam or Mariana crowing louder?

Songwriter?s apology

In a previous column, I wrote about renowned songwriter Jim Brickman using the melody of local composer Nelson del Castillo?s song in his new album without due credit. Nelson told me that Jim sent him an e-mail apologizing for the boo-boo, saying it was an honest mistake.

I believe Jim owes Nelson more than just an apology. Isn?t he guilty of copyright infringement? Our very own composers like Nelson deserve proper recognition. How dare foreign artists ?steal? Pinoy compositions and expect to get away with it just like that?

KC?s drama anthology

KC Concepcion is out to show she is truly her mother?s daughter in ABS-CBN?s month-long drama anthology ?I Am KC? (Saturdays, 7 p.m.). On April 5, she will be in a light romance (?Yes Sir?) with Luis Manzano and Albert Martinez. Catch her on April 12 in ?Time?s Up!,? a light fantasy with Makisig Morales and in ?Love 2 Dance,? a musical with Vhong Navarro on April 19.

KC was seen bonding with Ruffa Gutierrez, Phoemela Barranda and Miriam Quiambao at Cav in Bonifacio High Street. Did KC and Ruffa have a girls? talk about Richard Gutierrez? Is it an indication that the KC-Richard movie will finally push through? That would be a ?MegaMandag!? pair!

Global ?Papaya?

Just like the vitamin brand Edu Manzano endorses (HavitAll), he really is living it up! His signature Papaya dance has been featured in ?Good Morning America.? Check it out at http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=4495371. Gandang Umaga, Papaya! The fruit of Edu?s antics has gone global.

Magic and fantasy

Enter the world of magic and fantasy in GMA 7?s ?Tasya Fantasya? starting April 6 after SOP. Based on Carlo J. Caparas? enchanting masterpiece, it is set in the colorful world of Tasya, portrayed by Yasmien Kurdi. Tasya is an ugly but kind-hearted sales assistant in an optical shop who yearns for her Prince Charming?s affections only to find out that her fate is entangled in a magical pair of eyeglasses that will lead her to a series of adventures.

During a taping lull, Yasmien told her co-stars that a Kapamilya heartthrob (who used to be a Kapuso) courted her but their romance got thwarted when he sort of caused a gap between her and another female Kapuso young star. How?s that for ?Tasya Realidad??
