MANILA, Philippines—GMA 7 has announced that a total of 25,000 aspirants showed up for the “Pinoy Idol” auditions held in eight cities. At least 8,000 of them got to perform in front of the judges— Wyngard Tracy, Ogie Alcasid and Jolina Magdangal— throughout the three-month tryouts. The number was further trimmed down to the 180 that will slug it out for the Manila eliminations later this month.
