She recently set up her own ecological organization, Alaga Lahat.

?Healing the earth is a vocation, a lifelong commitment, for me,? she says.

As a mom now, I?ve written the book ?Basura Monster,? which was endorsed by the Department of Education and the Department of Energy and Natural Resources.?

In book-reading sessions for children, Babao emphasizes three Rs?reduce, reuse, recycle. ?I remind people to reduce plastic use. I encourage people to go back to using bayong for shopping, banana leaves on plates instead of styrofoam. There?s a fourth R?restore. Every little act counts.?
