?Jaguar? and ?Bayan Ko,? not ?Orapronobis?

FROM JOSE F. LACABA, by phone:

Regarding Marinel R. Cruz?s story on Brillante ?Dante? Mendoza?s ?Serbis? competing in Cannes (noting that one other movie, Lino Brocka?s ?Orapronobis,? had similarly competed earlier)?

?Orapronobis? was shown out of competition. The only other Filipino films previously shown in competition in Cannes were ?Jaguar? and ?Bayan Ko: Kapit sa Patalim,? both by Brocka.

Next clown, please?

From Phil Mangubat (filomango69@yahoo.com) of Quezon City:

Hay, dios mio. These starlets are all over the entertainment pages again. First, La Greta inflicted her [indiscretions and] her ?nilalagareng lata? singing voice on the hapless public. Now comes eternal starlet Heart Evangelista making a big fuss about her move to another network. Really, who cares? ?Day, may compelling reason kung bakit ka napanis sa old home station mo, ?no? A mediocre talent moving to more mediocre productions is not exactly big news. Next clown, please.

Mabuhay, Madonna!

From Emil (emil849@yahoo.com):

Pleased convey my heartfelt regards to Madonna Decena. I am praying for her success. I am also a Filipino overseas contract worker, based in Yemen, and I am very proud to be Pinoy. Filipinos are one of a kind in this world. Mabuhay ka, Madonna! I hope you win the contest, and God bless you.

Another Pinoy

From kris_031445@yahoo.com:

I was searching for more videos of Filipino or half-Filipino talents around the world, and came across one of Charlie Green, a 10-year old ?possible? Fil-Brit (his mom looks Pinay). He impressed Simon very much (the judge was caught on-cam snapping his fingers).

Bulilit/PDI fan

From Catherin Sy (catherine_sy77@yahoo.com)

Greetings! I would like to know if you have any info about auditions for ?Goin? Bulilit?? (There are no more auditions for the forthcoming season, according to the network.?Ed.)

Yesterday, my daughter and I attended the Junior Inquirer Read-Along at Robinsons Galleria. Thank you for teaching children how to be Eco Defenders.
