Show biz friends host reunion party for Gabby

MANILA, Philippines - Iza Calzado is all revved up for her movie with Gabby Concepcion. "I've always liked his red lips and broad shoulders," she says.

Isn't she wary that they would be romantically linked once shooting starts? "Intrigues are part of our job. As long as it doesn't affect my family, deadma lang ako."

Won't the cases Gabo is facing adversely affect their movie? "I hope the public will focus on our performance more instead of our personal lives," she sighs.

First thing she'll tell Gabby when they finally meet? "Thanks for trusting me." Shouldn't that be Gabo's line to Iza instead?

Reunited

Mark Gil, Cherie Gil and Michael de Mesa hosted a reunion party for Gabby Concepcion. Lloyd Samartino, Paolo Contis and Al Tantay, Mark's wife Maricar and Michael's wife Julia were also at the fete.

"We had a good time reminiscing the good old days," says Mark. "Gabo and I were ribbing each other that we should call William Martinez and the rest so we can do 'Bilibid Boys 2'." Bilib it or not, they haven't lost their '70s charm.

Silent breakup

Jericho Rosales' camp remains quiet about his breakup with Heart. "Echo will talk when he's ready," says his close friend. "Both of them are still hurting. We pray for peace and understanding for all that has transpired."

I remember when Echo and I were at a party in Bohol last Feb. While watching the fireworks, he told me that he wants to surprise Heart on her birthday by making the sky light up that way.

Echo did greet Heart with fireworks. Too bad the fire between them has been extinguished.

Who's badly burned? Both of them or the bystanders in the bridge that Heart crossed from ABS to GMA?

Look-alikes

A young actress used to lust after a student who's a dead ringer for a singer who happens to be her BF now. At a mag's event, she spotted the student from afar.

So she called him on his cell and asked what he was doing. The student told her that he was home resting.

The actress snapped back at him for lying. He scampered home lest the actress clings to him all night.

Did the actress hook his singer look-alike just to spite the student? As if feelings were transferable!

Dawn's Jacobo

Dawn Zulueta-Lagdameo's son Jacobo is absolutely adorable and intelligent. GainPlus formula, which the actress-mom endorses, must have done wonders for him.

Definitely, Dawn will continue with Gain School Advance when Jacobo turns 3. It comes in delicious chocolate, too! Yet another reason that I wish I were a kid again.

'Quickfire'

Catch a unique show on Phil TV, "Quickfire," which will air in three 10-minute recipe capsules-noon time, afternoon, and evening-on weekdays.

On weekends, it will air once, on 9 p.m. Hosted by Chef Rosebud with celebrity guests, it premiers on May 5. Each installment of the show will feature dishes that take 10 minutes-or less!-to cook. Pret a manger!
