Step into the ‘Sex’ life

MANILA, Philippines -You cannot go to New York and not think of ?Sex and the City.?

The city?s different corners will transport you back to the days when you were obsessing over the show, when you were trying to choose between Aidan and Big, when you were wondering what it was like to be one of the girls?or at least be friends with them.

There are many ways you can feel like Carrie, Samantha, Miranda or Charlotte in New York City?and none of them involves taking your clothes off or hooking up with a random stranger.

1. Step into Carrie?s shoes, literally. Hit the boutiques of Jimmy Choo (there are stores along 5th, Madison and Lexington Avenues) and Manolo Blahnik (there?s one on West 54th Street), try on pretty footwear and find out why Carrie couldn?t resist hoarding pairs and pairs. Don?t go overboard, though, you wouldn?t want to earn the ire of the snooty saleswomen.

2. Enjoy a cupcake. Carrie and Miranda ate cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery (identical cupcakes can be found at Buttercup Bake Shop, which was put up after Magnolia?s original owners had a falling out). But if you really want good cupcakes, the place to go to is Crumbs.

The cupcakes are huge, creamy and flavorful. And you know they are good cupcakes when they are still a fantastic treat even after they?ve been hand-carried to Manila and stored in the fridge for a few days. There are branches in Manhattan?s Upper West Side, Upper East Side, in Bryant Park, East Hampton, The Village and Wall Street.

Must-try flavors include Raspberry Swirl, Classic Chocolate Buttercream, Cappuccino and Banana Split. Visit www.crumbsbakeshop.com.

3. Enjoy New York street food. Carrie and her friends were seen on the show countless times enjoying New York City treats. Try the hotdogs and the pretzels.

4. Feel like Charlotte and enjoy New York City?s galleries. There are a lot of them.

5. Ride a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park. Sure, it?s cheesy but it will remind you of Carrie and Big?s sweet ride?right before Miranda gave birth.

6. Grab a giant New York slice. The New York pizza was featured a number of times on the show. Pick up a slice from Ray?s (branches are all over the city). The white cheese is really good.

7. Go to Mr. Big?s bar. Seriously. Chris Noth owns a bar in Manhattan called The Cutting Room (19 W 24th Street) Even cooler, the band of John Corbett (yes, Aidan) plays there sometimes.
