Dollywood
Precious Quigaman not fired from ‘Wowowee’

MANILA, Philippines?Contrary to reports, Precious Lara Quigaman wasn?t fired from ?Wowowee? because, allegedly, she broke the unwritten rule that no boyfriends were allowed in the entourage when they had a show in Hawaii.

?Sumunod lang ang BF ni Lara. Pati ang mom niya,? clarified Lara?s manager Rowell Octavio. ?She attended all the scheduled promo activities. Never naging sagabal ang BF niya dun.?

Prior to their departure, Willie Revillame told Lara in jest, ?Bawal magsama ng BF ha!? The same went for his other co-hosts Mariel Rodriguez and Valerie Concepcion. Pappy Willie was just being protective of them. Some kind of ?Pappy? love.

Waiting for Rudy

I?ve been texting Alma Moreno to ask for her sentiments about Rudy Fernandez?s critical condition. Her silence could mean that seeing Daboy so weak is something unthinkable for her.

I remember that when he was diagnosed with cancer, Ness told me, ?Ayokong dumalaw sa ospital kasi di ako sanay makita si Daboy na mahina. Di siya bagay sa ospital.?

Daboy and I have this running joke about his nephew Mon who?s an ex-BF. ?Di na nagka-GF si Mon after you,? Daboy teased me. ?Na-trauma ?ata o baka hinihintay ka bumalik.? Now it?s my turn to tell Daboy, ?We are all eagerly awaiting your return.?

Telenovela finale

?The Buzz? wanted to interview me about my scoop on Kristine Hermosa?s rift with her director (Andoy Ranay) in ?Prinsesa ng Banyera.? I begged off because I didn?t see the point in letting the issue drag on.

Besides, my insider?s info about Kristine?s prima donna ways is an open secret in the biz already. And since she?s a talent of ABS-CBN, they would protect her, naturally. If she can?t clean up her act, they will do it for her.

At press time, ?The Buzz? is still waiting for my statement on the issue in lieu of an interview. Suffice it to say that since ?Prinsesa ng Banyera? is ending this week, let the controversies between Tintin and Andoy die with it.

?Moms? guests

I had so much fun as a guest in ?Moms? with Mark Gil and Tanya Montenegro. The episode was all about helping our kids conquer their fear of school. (The episode airs tonight at 6 on Q-11.)

Tanya told me that her sis Nadia has erased the ?Greta brouhaha? from her mind. ?Masyadong madaming nasabi na mali. Why should it be a big deal kung madaming na-link kay Nadia before? She once had a perfect figure (laughs).?

I teased Mark that his son Sid Lucero might become more famous than himself. ?He?s a good boy,? Mark beams. ?I never give him unsolicited advice whether it comes to acting or love life.? It was such a delight to share parenting joys and woes in an ?unshow-bizy? way.

Winning party

Congratulations to the Press Freedom Party led by Benny Antiporda for winning all but one of the 15 posts for the 2008-2010 term of office for the National Press Club of the Philippines. Kudos to Jerry Yap who topped the race for directors, vice president Rolly Lakay Gonzalo, secretary Louie Logarta, treasurer Amor Virata, auditor Berteni Causing, directors Joey Venancio, Percy Lapid, Marlon Purificacion, William Depasupil, Alvin Feliciano, Ronniel de Guzman, Joel Sy Egco, Freddie Manalac and Jun Cobarrubias.

Carry on, Press Freedom Party in pressing the right buttons!

Personal: Madamo gid na salamat to my friends in Iloilo whom I love dearly, Cedric and Engel Loring, for taking me in like family at their Del Rio Hotel and for the fun nights at Iloilo?s premier party place Flow.

Thanks also to Nath and Hazel Pugales, Pauline Banusing, Zedrick Seneres of the Daily Guardian, JP Cadiz, Cathy Espiritu, Jing Villavert, John de la Cruz, GMA 7?s indefatigable Ramir Orteza and Barbs Atienza, my cool colleagues Eugene Asis of People?s Journal, Don Don Sermino of Abante and Walden Belen of Manila Bulletin for another unforgettable stay in my second home. I wish I could freeze time every time I?m there.
