MANILA, Philippines?Star Cinema celebrates its 15th anniversary with Chito Roño?s groundbreaking new film, ?Caregiver??a fitting tribute not only to millions of OFWs, but also to Sharon herself as she celebrates 30 successful years in the industry.

Sacrifices

It is the Megastar?s first film in five years, and she?s very proud of it. She shares: ?Doing the movie made me look at the plight of OFWs from a different point of view. I learned much more about the sacrifices they make to give their families a better future!?

This is also the first time that Sharon is working with acclaimed director, Chito Roño. She recalls: ?Direk Chito and I called ourselves the art department, because we helped move the props. During our three-week stay in London, I saw with my own eyes what a hard-working director he is. I learned a lot from him and, at the same time, ?unlearned? what I already knew!?

According to Sharon, the London shoot was all work. She was lucky to get four hours of sleep. ?I didn?t have the opportunity to see the sights or eat in a restaurant, because in a setup like that, our meals consisted mostly of takeout or delivery. It was also very cold in London, But, I have no regrets!?

?Caregiver? chronicles the journey of Sarah, a school teacher-turned-caregiver. Eighty percent of the movie was shot in London.

Sharon imparts this final message: ?The whole experience is empowering. Lahat ng naramdaman ko in doing the movie?ang hirap, pagkaawa sa sarili, pagkapit sa faith mo, pangungulila?all that I felt sa loob ng tatlong linggo ay dinaranas din ng maraming OFWs?and much more! Sarah, my character, is first and foremost a mother. So, this is a tribute to all mothers, as well!?
