There’s life after ‘Wowowee’

MANILA, Philippines—For Precious Lara Quigaman, there’s life after “Wowowee.” She’s all agog preparing for a pageant that will revolutionize the industry.

“The controversy has made me learn how to speak up for what’s right even if I’m up against influential people,” she says.

How has it affected her BF who’s pinpointed as one of the reasons why she was axed from the show? “He was quite mad and felt guilty after being blamed for following me in our US show. As much as he wanted to confront the person who treated me badly, he’s being a gentleman about it.”

Is she still willing to go back to the show? “I cannot work in a show where I’m not welcome and unwritten rules are implemented,” she laments.

As far as Lara knows, she broke no rule and yet a part of her heart got broken.

La Vida Luna

Pauleen Luna is not getting impatient waiting for her big break. “I’m not starving. If it comes, it comes,” she says. “Besides I’m too happy with my love life and my career.”

She’s busy as the endorser of Renew Placenta herbal beauty products. What’s her opinion about the trouble between the owners of the product and its former image model Melanie Marquez? “I’m not involved so I’d rather not comment,” she says.

With her Placenta glow, Pauleen is ripe to pose for FHM but she’s still hesitant. “The time will come for that.”

She’s in no rush to get ahead because she’s enjoying where she is right now.

Back in town

Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragosa are back in town. But not to get back at Rufa Mae Quinto for her allegations that Jessa snatched Dingdong away from her, many heartaches ago.

“What she said was totally unfair and inaccurate,” says Dingdong, who would rather focus on the celebrity golf tournament his company (Matua Agupa) is mounting in Guam and their US concert tour after he celebrates his birthday here next month.

Will they entertain thoughts of crossing paths with Rufa Mae anytime soon? Mum mom
Lani Mercado would rather ignore talk that Lovi Poe’s mom doesn’t approve of Jolo Revilla for her daughter. She also refuses to comment about the rumored gap between the Revillas and her daughter Inah’s in-laws. “Let there peace among us all.” Now that’s one mum Mom.

‘Poohkwang’

Pokwang cried while watching the movie “Sex and the City.” “Naiyak ako kasi Ingles. Wala akong maintindihan,” she says. Such is her sense of humor. The comedienne can laugh about herself unabashedly. Catch her with Pooh in Asap Live’s “Poohkwang,” Fridays and Saturdays of June, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum. Let the laughter begin! Laugh ko ’to!

Gabby’s case

I heard Gabby Concepcion’s lawyer in “Saksi” saying that Gabo’s marriage contract to Sharon Cuneta was antedated, making their union null and void from the start. So goes his defense in Gabby’s bigamy case. That was also the case in my civil marriage. But I still had to file for annulment. The antedated document didn’t help much. Maybe Gabo should ask his Dear Heart what to do now.
