RP film in Greek fest
Richard Legaspi’s “Ambulancia” will compete at the 10th International Panorama of Independent Film and Video Makers International Film Festival of Patras, which runs from Sept. 21 to 29 at the Lithografeion Theatre in Patras City, Greece.
This was relayed by festival director Chionidis Panagiotis, in his official invitation to Legaspi.
“Ambulancia” is about an ambulance driver who believes a dying patient can be saved by running over stray animals.
Viva tilt winners
Incidentally, “Ambulancia,” which stars Alan Paule and Nor Domingo, won the grand prize in the second Pinoy Box Office (PBO) Digitales Short Film Contest recently.
Organizers Viva Communications, Inc. and Viva Foundation awarded Legaspi with a certificate of recognition and P50,000.
Ivy Universe Tayag Baldoza placed second for “Walang Paraiso”; Seymour Barros Sanchez, third for “Shorts.”
The other finalists were Ronald Espinosa Batallones, “Isa”; Rosswil Hilario, “Kwidaw”; Patricia Lorraine Rosal, “Hiling”; and Noriel Jarito, “OFW: Bagong Bayani o Baliw na Bayani.”
‘Travel Time’ feature
Tomorrow’s episode of the travel show, “Travel Time TV,” will showcase the country’s natural water wonders as they are featured in the ongoing 2008 Expo Zaragoza in Spain.
More than 100 countries and autonomous regions are participating in the expo, which is expected to draw six million visitors during its three-month schedule ending in September.
Hosted by Susan Calo-Medina, the show will document the Philippines’ participation in the Expo Zaragoza in a two-part presentation which will air July 19 and 26, 9:30 a.m. at the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC).
