RUSHES SUNDAY
When Kapamilya bosses are not happy

MANILA, Philippines - A Canary Films insider told Rushes that ABS-CBN has yanked out its talents Angelica Panganiban, Diether Ocampo and Roxanne Guinoo from its Metro Manila Film Fest entry, Jose Javier Reyes’ “One Night Only.”

The unofficial reason given was that Kapamilya bosses are not too happy that a Kapuso, Katrina Halili, is being touted as the sex comedy’s lead star.

Another Canary source said the Kapamilya stars’ handlers were “intimidated” by Katrina. This was confirmed by an ABS-CBN mole.

Precious moments

The Nescafe Classic “Jewel” TV commercial, currently airing in major networks, is about seizing special moments and storing them in the memory, says brand marketing exec Giselle Dee.

That the special can be created from the ordinary seems to be the underlying message, since the models are not (yet) familiar faces.

Consider these past high-profilers that have endorsed the coffee brand: Zsazsa Padilla, Kuh Ledesma, Tweety de Leon, John Lloyd Cruz, Dennis Trillo, Sam Milby, Toni Gonzaga, Pia Guanio, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

Prophetic prof

Relates Krista Ranillo, Mat III’s baby (though she’s 24) and this month’s FHM cover girl, one of her professors in Ateneo (where she’s a dean’s lister) once teased her:

“Baka mag-FHM ka ha?”

Oops.

Did not!

NEW YORK—Cosmetics giant L’Oreal says it did not lighten Beyonce’s skin tone in an ad.

“It is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color,” the Paris-based company said in a statement on Thursday.

The ad is in the September issues of Elle, Allure and Essence on US magazine stands now. AP
