MANILA, Philippines??She never really liked Richard,? Annabelle Rama said of GMA 7 executive Wilma Galvante, whom she is accusing of ?sabotaging? the opening on Wednesday of the movie ?For the First Time,? starring her son Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion.

Rama, who is also Gutierrez?s talent manager, said Galvante did this by authorizing the staging of ?Let?s Celebrate,? Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera?s free birthday concert at the Araneta Coliseum, on the evening of the same day.

Also on the same day, Rama talked to Inquirer Entertainment, saying she was being very vocal on the issue only to protect her son.

?For the First Time? was produced by Star Cinema, film arm of ABS-CBN. Gutierrez, a contract artist of GMA 7, was ?loaned out? for the project. Gutierrez and Concepcion are set to make a movie under GMA Films next year.

?Sabotahe,? Rama fumed. ?Sa umpisa pa lang magkagalit na talaga kami ni Wilma. Si Annette and Felipe Gozon lang ang may gusto kay Richard.? Gozon is GMA Network chair, and Annette Abrogar, his daughter, is president of GMA Films.

Rama said GMA 7 did not help promote the movie. On the contrary, she ranted, ?Tinapatan nila ang lahat ng TV appearances ni Richard sa ABS-CBN. Kung may utak s?ya (Galvante), dapat naisip n?yang this is Richard?s movie.?

But Rama was pleased with the movie?s box-office performance on opening day. ?Mas malakas pa raw sa ?A Very Special Love? (another Star Cinema production),? she reported.

The premiere screenings of her son?s movie at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday night were also well-attended, Rama said, adding that Concepcion?s estranged parents Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion both showed up. ?My whole family was there, too,? she said.

Gutierrez?s contract with GMA 7 expires next year. Is it true that she?s moving him to ABS-CBN? ?It?s too early to say,? Rama said, ?but we?re consulting our lawyer. Kung gusto ko raw namin umalis, pwedeng basehan ang lack of support.?

Would she ever reconcile with Galvante? ?Ewan ko, ?Day,? Rama said.

In an earlier interview, Galvante said there was absolutely no intent to pit Richard against Dingdong. She also said she received ?malicious? text messages from Rama, but did not reply to any of them.

Galvante said one of the messages, about two weeks ago, said, ?Paglalaruan kita nang isang buwan.?

Rama denied this, saying the message she sent was, ?Pasisikatin kita nang isang buwan.? And it?s not true that Galvante did not reply, Rama said. ?She texted me back, warning na puede ako mademanda (I was courting a lawsuit). She did not scare me. I will do everything to protect my talents.?
