MANILA, Philippines?Politicos beware. Make sure you pay the stars you ask to campaign for you.

Big Star agreed to endorse Rich Politician. In their sorties, RP acted extra chummy with BS, even copying the latter?s hairstyle. After the election, RP ?forgot? to pay BS? fee in full.
Now, BS refuses to have anything to do with RP.

Directing under the influence

Popular Director gives new meaning to the acronym DUI or Driving Under the Influence.
According to a mole, PD directed a recent movie while completely smashed?as in, drunk as a skunk. No wonder the film looked slapdash. Directing Under the Influence should be a felony, too.

Meddling director

Popular Actress is upset with Meddling Director. MD was instrumental in PA hooking up with Married Actor. When that affair went sour, PA found bliss with Unmarried Actor.

But MD is rooting for another guy, Hunky Actor, so MD tried to break up PA and UA by spreading malicious gossip. Didn?t work; the two are still an item.

It could be because HA isn?t interested in PA?or any other girl for that matter.

Breaking up corner

Here?s another kind of nasty split-up.

As expected, money was the main reason that Drama Actor is firing his Latest Manager.

LM and DA co-produced a show and DA expected to rake in lots of moolah. But LM told DA that the show earned zilch.

DA should proceed with caution and learn from the experience of Handsome Actor. HA dumped his Obsessed Manager who, until now, is sending him creepy text messages.

Stud for hire

And people thought Jobless Stud was broke. Actually, JS is constantly spotted in Makati bars?most recently, in Tiananmen.

Perhaps he is hunting for a rich benefactress/benefactor? A mole claims JS is in desperate need of cash to help his family.

No Pusan for Mylene

Director Chris Martinez told Rushes that Mylene Dizon will not be joining the Pinoy contingent in Pusan, where their film ?100? is competing in the New Currents section.

?It?s because she?s pregnant,? explained Martinez. (Dad is Paolo Paraiso, father of Dizon?s older son, Tomas.)

No wonder Dizon, who won Best Actress in Cinemalaya this year, was sleepy and sluggish, craving fruits, and looking for a Portalet on the set of ?Shake, Rattle & Roll X? in Cavite.

Eugene Domingo, Dizon?s ?100? co-star and Cinemalaya Best Supporting Actress, will go with Martinez to Korea.

Dedicated to Pope

ROME?Madonna, once accused by the Vatican of staging one of the most satanic shows in history, surprised fans by dedicating her hit, ?Like a Virgin? to the Pope at a sold-out concert held in Rome.

?I dedicate this song to the Pope, because I?m a child of God. All of you are also children of God,? the 50-year old ?Queen of Pop? told the 60,000 fans that flocked to the Italian stop of her ?Sticky & Sweet? world tour on Saturday.

Italian newspapers called the dedication a surprising provocation. Reuters

Top of the talk shows

Vicki Belo, on boyfriend Hayden Kho entering showbiz:

?Of course, I want him to grow and ? develop his talents. He need to find his own identity kasi kung minsan ang tao, lagi lang sinasabi, boyfriend ni Dr. Belo.? (Was the rumor that they had broken up supposed to drumbeat this event?)

Rayver Cruz, on reports he dated Rhian Ramos:

?Lumabas kami. Wala naman masama siguro doon. It was a friendly date.? (O, sha.)

Rhian, on her relationship with Rayver:

?Hindi kami romantic. Friends talaga kami.

Ogie Alcasid, on being away from his kids:

?Nalulungkot ako, kasi hindi ko nakikita ang mga anak ko. Sinasabi rin sa akin ni Michelle (van Eimeren), ??Di ka nagkulang bilang ama.? Doon okay na ako.?

Regine Velasquez, on spending time with boyfriend Ogie Alcasid and his former wife Michelle van Eimeren:

Bebong Muñoz, on marriage plans with girlfriend Jolina Magdangal:

?Emotionally, we?re ready. As far as dates are concerned, hindi naman kami mag-she-share nu?n.? (Why not naman?)

Anne Curtis, on allegedly breaking up with rumored boyfriend Sam Milby:

?Walang reason para maghiwalay kami, dahil hindi kami. So there?s no way na maghihiwalay kami. Nagtatampuhan talaga. It happens. But, you know, it?s something that we want to keep to ourselves.? (No, really?)

Ruffa Gutierrez on Riza Santos, who was four hours late in a recent taping of a show:

?Frustrated lang ako minsan sa mga baguhan na walang respeto sa mga nakakatanda sa kanila ? I had to give her a piece of my mind ? Hindi ko po siya tinalakan ? I said, ?Next time, don?t make anyone wait. If you want to make it in this business, be professional.??
