Dollywood
Lani has mastered the art of maximum tolerance

MANILA, Philippines - Lani Mercado ought to give wives a crash course on how to keep their husbands. No matter how many women have come and gone in the life of her hubby, Sen. Bong Revilla, she has stood by him and remains mostly indifferent to intrigues.

Lani has mastered the art of maximum tolerance. At Bong?s birthday bash last Sept. 24, Lani gamely joined him, Gretchen Barretto and Rufa Mae Quinto on stage. Greta and Pchi were both linked to Bong many controversies ago.

What?s Lani?s advice to women whose partners are lapitin ng chicks, like Bong? ?As long as you know your rightful place then you have nothing to worry about,? she said. ?And if you are always assured by your husband of his love, then that?s more than enough to make you smile. Life isn?t perfect. Just do a good job as a wife and as a mother. Make life exciting for you and your husband. When you feel you are weak, raise it all up to God and leave it up to Him.?

Among all of Bong?s legendary agimats, Lani?s the most powerful of them all.

Gabby in grief

I went to the wake of Gabby Concepcion?s dad Rollie on the first night. Gabs and the whole clan were clad in white. Nadia Montenegro took charge of almost everything. She really goes that extra mile for friends even if she has to face the extra challenge of intrigues that comes with the ?Gabo? territory.

?First time mag-meet ni KC and her half-sis Gabrielle (Gabby?s daughter with Grace Ibuna). They are on the way here,? says Nadj. ?Idol ni Gab si KC.?

Gabs was his usual charming self. Even in grief, he still radiates positive vibes. His charming wife Jinby wasn?t hovering around Gabby. She gave him quiet yet steady support.

What a touching moment it was when KC arrived and hugged her dad tightly. No wailing nor hysterics. They were wrapped in each other?s arms for so long, lost in their own world filled with wonderful memories of their beloved dad/lolo.

Words were unnecessary. Gabby and KC are truly each other?s major source of strength.

Instant chemistry

On the lighter side, Rufa Mae and Gabby had a good time ribbing each other during my birthday party. As soon as Pchi arrived, Gabs kept telling everyone to watch her movie ?Italy.?

He was supposed to be her leading man in that film but plans got thwarted so the role went to Dennis Trillo instead. Rufa Mae and Gabby clicked instantly.

Such chemistry ought to be magnified into a movie called ?When Gabby met Pchi.?

Style icon?s show

Tessa Prieto Valdez is a style icon at heart but an interior designer by profession. She will show you how to doll up your homes in ?House Life,? which airs tonight and every Monday on Q11 at 7:25 p.m. It will feature the fab home of Dr. Vicki Belo.

Tessa?s team is composed of interior designers Tristan Jovella, Aissa Gonzalez and Marilen Faustino-Montenegro. Segments include ?Monthly Makeover,? ?Get That Look,? ?Celebrity Home Feature,? ?Tessa?s Design Tips,? ?Interior Design Tips,? ?Do it Yourself? and ?The Interior Design Feature.?

With Tessa?s savoir-faire, every home will turn into a mini-Disneyland.

Modern ?Fili?

Catch Franco Laurel in Dulaang UP?s ?Isang Panaginip na Fili? on Oct. 3 and 4 at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater, University of the Philippines. Multi-awarded director Floy Quintos is at the helm of the modern retelling of Jose Rizal?s opus ?El Filibusterismo.?

Transforming it into a musical made Floy realize the truest essence of the complicated story. Feeling Fili!
