MANILA, Philippines - Miss Earth 2007 jessica Nicole Trisko says the best thing about her reign was breezing through immigration counters in airports everywhere.

The 5?10? Filipino-Canadian beauty came back to the country to join activities leading to the coronation of her successor. Prior to this, Jessica went around the world to promote the pageant?s advocacy, the environment.

She noted that Traders Hotel, the pageant?s official home for two years now, uses solar energy for its water-heating facilities.

Jessica is proud of having given ?a new face? to the 7-year-old pageant. Unlike other beauty titlists who are now models or actresses, Jessica is deep into academics. She studied International Development Studies in Canada?s McGill University and holds a Master?s degree in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas. She?s working on a Political Science doctorate.

The pageant?s 2008 finals will be held tonight, 6 p.m., at the Clark Expo Amphitheater in Pampanga and will be telecast by ABS-CBN at 10 p.m. It will be beamed to countries in Asia, the Middle East, Oceania, Europe and North America covered by The Filipino Channel.
