MANILA, Philippines—Ogie Alcasid will perform together with American Idol Season 7 finalist Ramiele Malubay and the hit reality TV talent competition’s local contestants in a pre-Christmas concert at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.

Titled “The Idol Experience: Ogie Sings with the Idols,” the concert slated for Dec. 20-21 puts another milestone to the ace singer-songwriter’s phenomenal year, his 20th in show business. Set only three months after his successful “20/20” concert at the Araneta Coliseum, this show provides another career highlight for Ogie—sharing the stage with the young singing ‘Idols’ who were part of the hit reality TV show’s franchise.

“This is the very first time that I am actually performing with singing champions," Ogie said. "It is an honor for me to showcase some of the best young singers that we have and share the same stage with them."

The event also serves as Ramiele’s homecoming. Born in Saudi Arabia, the diminutive singer, 21, spent her early years in the Philippines before migrating to Miramar, Florida, where she currently resides. She had publicly indicated that Regine Velasquez, Ogie’s girlfriend, is her favorite performer and one of her biggest influences in her singing career.

Ramiele placed 9th in this season’s American Idol, which was eventually won by David Cook.

With Ramiele in the concert is her best friend and Idol semifinalist Danny Noriega.

Under the direction of Rowell Santiago, the show will also feature the eleven finalists of the show’s current Philippine franchise on GMA 7, “Pinoy Idol,” including grand champion Gretchen Espina, Jay Ann Bautista, and Ram Chaves, and the indie rock group Menaya.

Menaya lead vocalist and guitarist Brian Sombero, who auditioned for ABC-5’s “Philippine Idol” last year, organized the event.
