MANILA, Philippines - They had a less-than-amicable separation. But hours before a splashy premiere, Leading Man called and told his Ex-Girlfriend that his new movie was dedicated to her.
Perplexed, EG complained to friends about wishy-washy LM, calling his pronouncements “confusing.”
After all, LM is now being romantically linked with his film’s Leading Lady.
Days after the event, LM again called EG—furious because their “exchange” saw the light of print.
Speech defect Network’s Prized Actress had to re-dub her scenes in a new movie because of an irritating speech defect.
A mole related that a line of dialogue was translated to Taglish because PA couldn’t handle the English language.
PA kept pronouncing “have” as “heb.” Spy quipped: She should enroll in an elocution class, pronto.
Wheeler-dealer Dancer-TV Host was contracted by a Booking Agent to do a show at a hotel casino. DTH agreed, so BA started attending to contracts with the venue.
To BA’s chagrin, DTH decided to go straight to the hotel casino management, saying they should just deal directly with her.
A source who relayed the incident thinks DTH is either very unprofessional, or is simply too greedy.
Triple whammy Three more notches on his bed post.
Reliable Source claims that his pal, Wealthy Gay, has bedded three Hot Hunks from the country’s two rival networks.
How did he accomplish such a rare feat? WG allegedly gave HH No. 1 a brand-new car. Guess what the other two got?
Newfound glory Reality Hunk can’t seem to live down his bad rep as flesh peddler.
Solution? RH has unexpectedly found religion and is now training as a minister.
Surprising choice NEW YORK—Hugh Jackman says wife Deborra-Lee Furness teased him after finding out he’d been named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” Recalling Furness’ reaction, Jackman says: “God bless her, she said, ‘I could’ve told them that years ago! And then she said, ‘Obviously Brad (Pitt) wasn’t available this year.’ And I said, ‘That was a joke, right?”’
The magazine’s executive editor, Jess Cagle, said Wednesday on NBC television that the Australian actor is a “surprising choice,” but he’d been on the editors’ minds “for a long time and it seemed like this was the year to do him.” AP
‘Quickie’ divorce LONDON—The divorce proceedings between pop megastar Madonna and her British husband Guy Ritchie on Friday involved a deal giving him little of her vast fortune.
The case was listed as a “quickie” divorce under the names Ciccone M L v Ritchie G S, heard before a judge in the High Court’s Family Division in central London.
According to The Times newspaper, Madonna will “keep the bulk” of her 300-million-pound (440-million-dollar) fortune, after they resolved the main stumbling block over where the children will live. AFP
Very unusual LONDON—Legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones shocked passers-by in central London on Wednesday by performing an impromptu set on a pavement to raise money for a cancer charity.
The 68-year-old thrilled hundreds of people who thronged around him, snapping photographs on their mobile phone cameras. He sang with only an acoustic guitarist accompanying him.
As he belted out “It’s Not Unusual,” female members of the crowd began backup singing, prompting Jones to laugh in mid-performance, while one man climbed up a tree to get a better look at the music superstar. AFP
Joining the tell-all trend LOS ANGELES—The recent spate of male movie stars writing their life stories—including Tony Curtis, Robert Vaughn and Robert Wagner— offers something that would have been verboten in their studio years: Sex, sex and more sex.
Now, George Hamilton joins the tell-all trend with his memoir, “Don’t Mind If I Do,” in which he writes about losing his virginity when he was 12 to his stepmother. And that’s just for starters. Other exploits described in the book involve such notables as Marilyn Monroe, Mamie Van Doren, Judy Garland and Danielle Steel. AP
