Direk Rowell Santiago quits ‘Divas’

MANILA, Philippines—Rowell Santiago suddenly resigned as director of “Divas 4 Divas” which is slated on Dec. 6 at the Big Dome. This concert brings together Kuh Ledesma, Zsazsa Padilla, Pops Fernandez and Regine Velasquez for the first time.

Insiders insist Rowell was having problems getting the four divas to rehearse together due to their tight schedules. But Kuh says Rowell told her his schedule just wouldn’t permit it.

Any chance they would upstage each other? “It’s not a competition,” Kuh emphasizes. “We have teamwork.”

Awesome Foursome!

Another breakup

Paolo Contis and Isabel Oli have split up after three years of being together. I sent Pao a text message for the story behind the story but he hasn’t replied.

Perhaps he’s still licking his wounds. The last time I saw them together was at a party at Posh Nails Spa. They seemed to have such a soothing effect on each other.

Pao kept teasing Isabel about his half-naked pic on her phone’s screen. “Proud ka na sexy ang BF mo, no?”

Where has all the pride and love gone?

Good ‘ninong’

Mark Herras refuses to be dragged into the Jennylyn Mercado-Patrick Garcia controversy. Mark’s reaction to Pat’s wanting to see his love child AJ, whom Jen is keeping away from him? “Sila bahala mag-usap. Labas ako sa mga problema nila. I’m just here to give Jen moral support and be a good ninong to AJ.”

When love is in question, friendship is the answer!

Gimmick?

After watching Rihanna/Chris Brown’s concert together, are Glaiza de Castro and Patrick Garcia the newest pair in “gimiklandia?” “He’s not courting me,” she clarifies. “We just hang out a lot.”

Hang on for the next chapter. Emotions subject to change until further notice.

Valentine movie

Could it be true that there will be some changes in the story of Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion’s Valentine movie? Heard that the original plan was for Richard to portray a pilot with KC as one of the passengers on board. Then after the plane crashes, they get stranded in Palawan.

To make it realistic, they want to blow up a real plane but that would cost too much. And no airline would be crazy enough to agree on an ex-deal arrangement for that. But if KC and Chard’s hearts are in it, shouldn’t it be sky’s-the-limit?

Christmas list

Carmina Villaroel is back in ABS-CBN for one movie. She plays Vilma Santos’ daughter in Star Cinema’s “A Mother’s Story.”

The mother in her will eagerly buy Christmas gifts for her kids. “They have a wish list so it’s easier for me,” says Mina. “Mavy wants a tennis racket and Lego. Casy likes anything with Skulls, Bratz and kikay stuff.” And what does she want? “Lots of shoes and a MacBook laptop.” Those are her ChristMUSTS. What are yours?

Mexican delight

Don’t miss the intensifying story of the hottest afternoon Mexican telenovela “La Traicion” (weekdays after “Pieta” on ABS-CBN) starring heartthrob Mario Cimarro as Hugo and Alcides.

Before his wedding to Soledad, Hugo is stricken with catalepsy. Soledad will find his half-dead body and will think he is already dead.

She thus decides to marry Alcides instead even if she is pregnant with Hugo’s baby. Alcides, on the other hand, buries Hugo alive.

The plot thickens.
