Why talk about Marky should stop

MANILA, Philippines? The Kapamilya network reacts to the accusation that the crew it dispatched to the wake of Marky Cielo in Baguio disrespected the late young actor?s family:

?ABS-CBN politely and respectfully asked the permission of... Mildred Cadaweng for an interview as seen in the video footage aired in ?The Buzz?... (Dec 14).

?ABS-CBN apologizes to the family and relatives of Marky for the controversy created by certain sectors. We also sincerely thank Marky?s family and relatives for welcoming us.?

But we also saw video footage on the channel operated by those ?certain sectors? showing a very annoyed Mildred (Marky?s mom) Her words: ?Bakit ?yung ordinaryong tao, naiintindihan ?yun? Bakit ginawa nila ?yun? Talagang masakit ang loob ko doon.?

She pleaded with ?everybody? to stop all speculation about her son?s death. Before we could mutter, ?Impossible,? she gave a perfectly sound reason? one that was hard to refute: ?Hindi na po siya artista.?

This would also mean, however, that all talk about Marky, good or bad, should stop.

Another Angelina?

An information dispatch made our brows knit with the headliner, ?Rhian Ramos: The Next Angelina Jolie??

The first paragraph was quick to explain, though. In the cover story, the Kapuso star reportedly told Preview magazine: ?Adopting is motherhood na rin for me.? Oh, okay.

$92-M divorce

NEW YORK? Madonna, 50, has paid her ex-husband British director Guy Ritchie, 40, up to $92 million to settle their divorce after eight years of marriage, her spokeswoman said on Monday. Reuters

Why not?

SYDNEY?Nicole Kidman will have no more children after breaking a taboo against women playing the didgeridoo, an Aboriginal cultural leader has warned. Kidman, who gave birth to her first child in July at the age of 41, blew into the traditional instrument while promoting her latest movie on a German TV show. Aboriginal language teacher Richard Green told the Sydney Morning Herald: ?I will guarantee she has no more children. It is not meant to be played by women, as it will make them barren.? AFP

Another boy!

NEW YORK?Naomi Watts, 40, and Liev Schreiber, 41, welcomed their second son on Saturday. Samuel Kai Schreiber weighed 3.55 kilograms. The couple are also parents to Alexander Pete Schreiber, born July 2007. AP

Top of the talk shows

For those who missed last weekend?s gabfests on TV. (And why we are moved, if we are moved.)

Baron Geisler, on his indictment on acts of lasciviousness charges:

?Nakakainis naman po talaga... Pasko pa naman.? (Like it?s okay at any other time of year?)

Ruffa Gutierrez, on receiving boxes of her maternity dresses, toys and photo albums from Yilmaz Bektas:

?Pinagalitan na naman ako ni mommy kasi one hour na naman ako umiiyak.? (Except for the photos, he?s really got no use for those.)

Peque Gallaga, on public reaction to son Wanggo?s revelation of being HIV-positive:

?I really don?t care what people think. So he has HIV?so what??

Peque, asked if Wanggo was prepared for the ?inevitable?:

?He?d better be.?

Karylle, asked if Marian Rivera was the cause of her breakup with Dingdong Dantes:

?We can explain and explain but it will never be sufficient... to this day, we don?t completely understand why we broke up... how can we explain it to other people?? (But... but, we have so little else to ask of this trio.)
