MANILA, Philippines?Successful manager routinely bribes show biz insiders with jewelry and designer bags, to ensure that SM?s talents are always gainfully employed. This we are told.

We?re also told this is the reason that these talents can be overbearing. One of them counts her close-ups on a TV show; if the number falls short, she raises hell?we are told.

Clash of Kapamilyas

Kapamilya Stars are said to be on the verge of war because KS1 stood up KS2 in a recent big project. An insider says KS2 had just arrived from abroad but still showed up. KS1 allegedly was a no-show because her hubby was upset with KS2.

It seems trouble started after KS2 defended KS1 when the latter had a major fight with the hubby. And that?s how KS2 was rewarded.

Like manager, like talent

Upstart Manager insisted, ?I will never allow Pretty Actress to get swell-headed.? But UM was overheard being rude to an airport employee. Perhaps PA picked up her bad manners from UM? It?s true that the fruit doesn?t fall far from the tree.

Bad neighbor

Veteran Actress wasn?t popular with neighbors. A source relates that VA was negligent in paying subdivision dues and generally uncooperative in community activities.

As a result, nobody came to help during an emergency in VA?s home. She has since changed and become neighborly.

Reality movie

In ?One Night Only,? an action star (portrayed by Paolo Contis) picks up an extra (Alessandra de Rossi) on the set and takes her to a motel. This incident was based on a real incident.

Recycled gifts

Controversial Celebrity allegedly broke up with Scandalous Lover because the expensive gifts she had given him somehow ended up in the possession of Sexy Star, who is SL?s not-so-secret playmate. ?SL gave SS a sports car that was a present from CC,? bristled a friend of CC?s. ?The nerve!?

Heartbroken

FREEPORT, Bahamas?John Travolta said Monday he and his wife Kelly Preston were ?heartbroken? over the death of their chronically ill 16-year-old son, who collapsed at the family?s vacation home on Grand Bahama.

?We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish [that] time for the rest of our lives,? Travolta, 54, and Preston, 46, said in their first public statement since Jett?s death.

?Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered,? said a statement posted Sunday on Travolta?s website.

Preston and Travolta have said that Jett became very sick at 2 years old, when he was diagnosed with Kawasaki Syndrome, an illness that leads to inflamed blood vessels in young children.

The couple also have an 8-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu. AP
