MANILA, Philippines?Appearing in three weekly shows and a daily program has taught singer-comedian Janno Gibbs to be more efficient at preparing his outfits.

?Before I go to sleep, I already have a mental picture of what clothes, shoes or accessories I?ll wear to a taping or a live show the following day,? said Janno, mainstay of the daily noontime game show ?Eat Bulaga,? the Sunday variety program ?SOP,? the weekly gag show ?Nuts Entertainment,? and the game show ?Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5??all on GMA 7.

?I?ve memorized all my stuff. That?s why I get annoyed when, in the morning, I don?t find them where I left them,? Janno said. He confessed to being ?very organized, to the point of being OC (obsessive-compulsive).?

He explained: ?It?s not easy to be constantly looking for stuff. ?SOP? requires a lot of costume changes, and so does ?Kakasa,? where we sometimes tape three episodes a week. You also have to be well-prepared when you?re in a live show that?s fast-paced and where, therefore, anything can happen.?

Eyewear

I prefer wearing shades to accessories like watches and necklaces. The eyewear sets the tone of my outfit. Let?s say, if I?m to sing a rock song, rock din ang style ng shades. If I?m going to dress up for my girl character in ?Balakubak? (a segment in ?Nuts Entertainment?), pang-girl din ang shades ko. The Aviator shades from Ray-Ban are still my favorite. I have Wayfarers that are really old, from the ?80s pa. I also like pieces from Romeo Gigli and Diesel.

What?s important to me, more than style, is whether a pair has the right frame for my face. You really have to look for the right frame that matches your face.

Accessories

I like them rough and manly, like the ones I used for my character in ?Asero.? I?m not into bling-bling so much. My favorites are these really-hard-to-find necklaces that I bought in Japan. Pinag-kakaingatan ko sila. Another favorite, a rope bracelet, was a gift from Ogie (Alcasid). Tig-isa kami. It sort of serves as a friendship band.

Shoes

I really find it hard to buy shoes that I like here, so I buy them abroad. I have all sorts of boots, even the knee-high ones. I prefer suede to leather because I find it more manly, but my favorite leather pair is from a brand called Windsor. It?s a known brand for cowboy boots.

I?m very picky when it comes to shoes. Dapat medyo mataas ng konti, like a little over an inch.
I don?t collect rubber shoes but I went all the way to Japan to buy this pair of limited edition Nikes that has the technology to control air for better cushion. Apart from that, I like its silver-gold color combination.

Tops

I?ve always enjoyed wearing checkered or plaid button-down shirts. I like the urban cowboy look a lot. I?m very particular when it comes to the way a shirt should fit my body. Usually, when I buy RTW (ready-to-wear) clothes, I still have them repaired. (Among Janno?s preferred RTW brands are Zara Man, Fox Menswear and Top Man).

Bottoms

I?m very choosy when it comes to jeans. I can tell if the fabric used to make a particular pair is cheap. Since jeans are worn repeatedly, the materials should last. My vote goes to Diesel. I also buy jeans tailor-made for women. For some reason, they look good on me. (A quick peek in his closet also showed pants by Balenciaga and Zara and Just Jeans).

Scent

I don?t always bring my favorite perfume with me. Tinitipid ko kasi mahirap hanapin. It?s Green Water (for Men by Jacques Fath). I think it was first introduced in the ?60s and was revived recently. I like its minty scent. When you spray it on, you smell like you just stepped out of the shower. I know a lot of artistas who also like the scent. We found a shop in Greenhills that sells it. Agawan kami.

Cosmetics

I like the brand Mac. I have very sensitive skin?I easily get pimples and rashes, especially if the brand doesn?t suit me. I do my own make-up, that?s why I know what brand works for me. I also see to it that, when I put make-up on, lalaking-lalaki pa rin ang itsura ko. Some tend to put too much eye shadow or too much shading. I look at myself on the TV monitor and decide whether my make-up is too white or too light.

Bag

My favorite bag is a Bally. It?s a man bag in white, with white-red-green straps. Parang ang ganda-ganda ko ?pag dala ko siya. Parang suplado ang dating ko (laughs).
