MANILA, Philippines?ABS-CBN?s music and lifestyle channel Myx has expanded its reach in the US with its recent inclusion in the programming lineup of the Herndon, Virginia-based digital TV, high-speed Internet and voice services provider RCN Corp., a press statement furnished INQUIRER.net said.
With its inclusion in Global Passport, a digital tier of RCN?s international programming, Myx will further reach its target Asian American audiences in Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, New York and Philadelphia.
"Myx will continue to expand through key markets to target and serve the distinct entertainment needs of the Asian American youth," said Enrique Olives, director of business development for ABS-CBN Global.
"It is our ongoing commitment to provide the most innovative programming from around the world to our customers. Myx fits this Global Passport vision of unique, exceptional and exciting content for RCN's Asian American customers," said RCN president and CEO Peter Aquino.
Myx is targeted at the influential Asian American youth community and a broader music-oriented audience, the statement said. The channel will provide music and lifestyle programs that fuse mainstream US and Asian hits, and a healthy dose of independent music.
In addition, the channel offers fresh and innovative shows like Built from Skratch which uncovers the subcultures inside the hip-hop lifestyle, Myxology which features live performances of independent artists, Music Bang which showcases non-stop music videos from Asia, Slanted Comedy which features stand up routines from the hottest Asian comics on the scene, and The Nutshack, the first Filipino American animated series for adults.
