Dollywood
Gabby plays cameo role in ‘BFF’

MANILA, Philippines? It was so heartwarming to interview my second mom, Tita Nena (Amalia Fuentes), for my daily TV show with IC, ?IC/DC Chikalectric,? on Viva Cinema Channel.

For the very first time, she opened up about the health condition of her daughter, my best friend Liezl Martinez. ?Thank God! The worst is over,? she exclaimed. ?Liezl is getting better.?

How?s her relationship now with Aga Muhlach after their tampuhan when he got married? ?We are okay now. I love him like a son,? she said. ?It?s just sad that there are some people around us who want to pull us apart.?

How about her other nephew Niño Muhlach? ?I feel for Onin,? she said. ?He needs a lot of help because after his parents separated a long time ago, he hasn?t really recovered. The trauma stayed with him since he was working so hard as a child star.?

She?s really a Mama Nena to all over and beyond the call of duty.

Surprise appearance

Is Gabby Concepcion?s surprise appearance in Sharon Cuneta?s movie with Ai Ai de las Alas, ?BFF,? a teaser for their much-awaited on-screen reunion? Prior to the film?s hoot, I cornered Gabs about it and he was clueless about his cameo role. Or was he? The scene of Gabs and Sha in a carnival was obviously shot separately even if it was made to appear that Sha was looking at Gabs from a distance and he turned around to look at her.

Since Sharon agreed to do that ?camera trick? scene, does it mean she?s now ready, willing and able to work with Gabby again? Dear (change of) Heart, for the sake of Sha-Gabs fanatics?

Exes? team-up

Is Anne Curtis really doing a movie with her ex Richard Gutierrez? Chard?s team-up with Kapamilya KC Concepcion clicked. Will box-office success be sweeter the second time around but with another Kapamilya who almost became family to Richard?

?Miracle boy?

?May Bukas Pa?s? Santino, Zaijian Jaranilla, has become everybody?s ?miracle boy.? In less than three months, the 7-year-old boy has become a household name. ?Nakakatuwa kasi minsan kahit namamasyal lang kami, they call me Santino,? Zaijian says. ?At gusto nila magpagamot sa akin.? The ?May Bukas Pa? child sensation truly has a very promising ?bukas? in show biz.

Piolo can!

In Piolo Pacual?s multiply.com site (piolopascualadiks.multiply.com), PJ posted this note last May 13 about the inclusion of his film ?Manila? in this year?s Cannes International Film Festival:

?Kapag nakikita ko yung poster ng Manila, nakikita ko ang mukha ko, tapos yung festival sa Cannes, okey na ako. I mean, kumita man o hindi ang pelikula, just to be recognized... And that poster will be immortalized. So, sa akin, malaking regalo na po yun from the Lord, na parang hindi ko na makalilimutan yun sa tanang buhay ko.? PJ is out to prove that even in Cannes, the Pinoy can!

New stars

Is Manny Pacquiao?s ?karakter? of a mom Aling Dionisia really going to join show biz? Heard that she will soon have a TV ad and Pacman?s wife Jinky is set to be the next Belo endorser. Will silent rivalry start brewing between the in-laws? Detractors, beware! Pacman will surely be his wife?s and mom?s staunchest defender. Clobber them and he will clobber you!
